Earning Your Place

Senior science teachers in more than 100 high schools throughout WA nominate more than 200 current Year 10 and 11 students annually for the Science & Engineering Summer School. Earning a place is not easy, but is a matter of considerable achievement and pride for the 60 students invited to attend each year. Past students of the School have recorded outstanding academic achievements, figuring prominently each year in the awards associated with the Tertiary Entrance Exams.

A fundamental aim of the WA Science & Engineering Summer School is to help you reach your potential in the sciences, mathematics and engineering. A demonstrated, genuine interest in the sciences (physical and/or biological) and mathematics will be an important criterion in deciding who joins us in January. So when filling out the nomination form, give us more than just your examination marks. Tell us why you like the sciences and/or mathematics; what you can contribute to the WA Science & Engineering Summer School and what, in turn, you hope to gain from the School.
